For quite a few years, my wife Kathy and I have been paddling, hiking, camping, snowshoeing, and back-country skiing the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York. We never tire of the spectacular scenery and wildlife that we are so fortunate to see. Wherever we go, my camera is in my boat, backpack, or shoulder.
While I spent most of my adult life living in the suburbs of New York City, I started coming up to the Adirondacks in the late 1960's. I bought my first vacation house up here in 1982. Since June of 2010 that same vacation house has become our main residence.
Iíve been taking outdoor photographs since the early 1970ís. Only recently have I decided to sell my photos. If I have an eye for composition, itís been a lengthy process of studying other photographersí work, years of trial and error, and... a lot of enjoyment. On the lucky days, the scenes and wildlife I capture somehow manage to find my lens. Personally, viewing my photos is always emotional-- a vivid reminder of where Iíve been and what Iíve been lucky enough to see during my treks through the Adirondacks.
